This is the second Sunday of Lent and the Gospel is the Transfiguration. This Gospel of Luke shares the time when Jesus went up Mount Tabor with Peter, James and John. There He transfigures in front of his beloved disciples. Moses and Elijah appeared as well.
Why these two from the Old Testament? Moses was Israel’s representative of the law, while Elijah represented the prophets. Jesus is the fulfillment of both.
