“The Prodigal Son” by Fr. Jim Willig

It is September, and as Fr. Jim would say, it’s back to school and back to Gospel Studies! The Fr. Jim Gospel Studies will now match the upcoming Sunday Gospels again. How appropriate that the first study for this season is “The Prodigal Son!”

The Gospel of Luke sets the scene with Jesus preaching to a large group. The tax collectors and sinners were all crowding around to listen to Him. The Pharises and Scribes complained saying, ‘This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”  So Jesus told them the parable of The Prodigal Son, the greatest story of forgiveness.

This parable is the most beloved by all Christians. It is an amazing illustration of God’s eternal love for us, His children, even when we don’t deserve His love. God continues to forgive us over and over through His unbounding Love and Mercy.

Just click on the arrow to hear Fr. Jim’s inspirational message about this parable and how it relates to all of us.

God Bless You All!
