“Temptation (Luke 9: 28-36)” by Fr. Jim Willig

On this first Sunday of Lent, the Gospel of Luke shares the time when Jesus was led into the desert by the Spirit for forty days. After fasting the entire time, Jesus is tempted by the devil. Even though Jesus is exhausted and hungry, He does not give into the temptations. Jesus remains strong in the Spirit.

Fr. Jim takes us on this journey with Jesus into the desert.  Fr. Jim explains the depths of this Gospel and how it relates to each of us in our own personal lives. Why did the Spirit lead Jesus into the desert? Why do we have times of desert in our lives?
