This Sunday is often called the Feast of “Christ the King.” This Gospel of John addresses the time when Jesus is facing Pontius Pilate.
Pilate asks Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?” This dialogue continues with Pilate trying to berate Jesus, but He answers by saying, “My kingdom is not of this world!”
Fr. Jim explains how the Feast of “Christ the King” was instituted by Pope Pius XI to declare the Sovereignty of Jesus over all of the Earth. We are reminded that Jesus is called “King of Kings and Lord of Lords.”
