“Pentecost (John 20: 19-23)” by Fr. Jim Willig

This Sunday is Pentecost, the birthday of the Church. It is the time when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples of Jesus Christ, filling them with His spirit of love and light.

The reading of this Gospel is by Fr. Michael Sparough. It is the Gospel of John following the Resurrection. Jesus appeared to His disciples in the upper room, where they had been hiding since the Crucifixion.

The disciples were once again hiding for fear of the Jews in the same upper room when the Holy Spirit came down upon them on Pentecost.
