This Sunday the Gospel is from John 15, often called “The Vine and The Branches.” Because Fr. Jim Willig didn’t have a Gospel Study recorded for this Scripture, Fr. Michael Sparough recorded a homily using this Gospel. This is not only for our blog, but also for the radio program on 55KRC at 7:30 AM this Sunday.
Fr. Michael points out how Jesus is once again using the “I Am” statement, saying “I am the vine and you are the branches.” The vineyard was a perfect visual, because it was a familiar sight in the days of Jesus Christ. Using this allegory, Jesus was letting his disciples know that without Him, there is no life.
