“The Good Shepherd (John 10: 11-18)” by Fr. Jim Willig

This Sunday is often called Good Shepherd Sunday. Jesus identifies himself in this Scripture saying, “I am the Good Shepherd.” As the shepherd, He knows each of His sheep by name. His love is so great for His sheep, He gives His life for them.

Fr. Jim expresses how many references in Scripture are about sheep and how they are loved by their shepherd. What a wonderful image of the Lord’s love for each of us. Fr. Jim shares the difference between a good shepherd or pastor, and one that not is not. Fr. Jim then talks about what he calls the shepherds of today, for example, our parents.
