“Word to the Wise” (Matthew 25: 1-13) by Fr. Jim Willig

This Gospel Study called “Word to the Wise” is from Matthew 25: 1-13, which is the parable of the “Ten Bridesmaids.” Five of the bridesmaids were foolish, because they did not bring extra oil. The other five were wise, for they were prepared with extra oil. The first five ran out of their oil and wanted to take some from the wise ones, but were told no. When the first five went to buy more oil, the groom arrived. When the foolish ones returned to see the bridegroom, the doors had been shut and they could not enter.

The message of this parable for all of us is to stay awake and be prepared, for no one knows the hour. Just click on the arrow to hear Fr. Jim’s inspiring words:
