“The Good Shepherd (John 10: 1-10)” by Fr. Jim Willig

This Sunday is often called Good Shepherd Sunday from the Gospel of John.

Fr. Jim shares how early Palestine shepherds lived.  A shepherd never left his sheep or they would wander away. In addition, a shepherd called his sheep by name. The sheep would recognize their shepherd’s voice and follow him.

Jesus used the image of a shepherd in describing how He is leading us. Fr. Jim also points out that we are not only the sheep, but Jesus is also calling us to shepherd one another.
