“The Walk to Emmaus (Luke 24: 13-35)” by Fr. Jim Willig

The Gospel this week is “The Walk to Emmaus” according to Luke. It is the time when two disciples left Jerusalem in great despair because of the crucifixion of Jesus.  They had heard about the Resurrection but did not believe. They meet a stranger along the way, and did not realize it is their Messiah until the breaking of the bread.
