“Are You Masquerading? (Matthew 23: 1-12) by Fr. Jim Willig

The Gospel for this Sunday is actually Matthew 6: 1-13. Unfortunately, Fr. Jim did not complete a Bible Study using this Scripture reading. So to continue Fr. Jim’s explanation of the Jewish laws, Matthew 23: 1-12 has been chosen for today’s Bible Study.

Fr. Jim explains how the Scribes took the 613 laws from the Old Testament and created 50 volumes to dictate how a good Jew must act in order to be ‘on the right side’ of these laws. Jesus called out the Scribes and Pharisees, calling them hypocrites because they were trying to outwardly acting ‘holy,’ but inwardly they were filled with pride.

Just click on the arrow to hear Fr. Jim’s inspiring words and how he relates this Gospel to all of us.

God Bless You!
