The Order of Peter (John 21: 1-21) by Fr. jim Willig

This Sunday’s Gospel according to John is one of Fr. Jim’s favorites. It is the one when the resurrected Jesus appears on the shore, while Peter and the other disciples are fishing.  Jesus instructs them to lower their nets to return with a huge catch.

Then Jesus addresses Peter and asks him three times, “Peter, do you love me?” This was to counter the three times when Peter denied knowing Jesus.

Just click on the arrow to hear how Fr. Jim steps into this Scripture as the persona of Peter to answer these questions that Jesus asks, “Do you love me?”

God Bless You!

  1. Wanda Brooksbank says:

As always when I listen to Father Jim, I can feel god’s present in the room. The reading of Simon being ask if he loved him touchs my heart every time. I think of what Father jim had to go thru but never lost his faith. He is a inspiration to all of us and was a true blessing.
